Ian Dury albums out on CD

Lord Upminster / 4,000 Weeks’ Holiday

OUT NOW

Expanded and remastered editions of both albums featuring previously unavailable bonus tracks, among them a cover of Chuck Willis’ Rock & Roll Shoes, the extended 12” mix of Spasticus Autisticus and an absorbing interview with Ian taken from the 1981 Polydor conference.

Available on June 3rd 2013 on Salvo, Union Square Music’s collector’s label.

1981’s Lord Upminster was the first of two Dury albums for Polydor, and saw him reunited with Chaz Jankel alongside the mighty rhythm section of Sly Dunbar & Robbie Shakespeare. 1984’s under-rated 4,000 Weeks’ Holiday was Dury’s final LP for Polydor with his new band The Music Students

Each album comes complete with a generous booklet, featuring rare photographs and sleevenotes by journalist and author Patrick Humphries.
